Onyx (2012)- full story

The story is not for younger than 14 years old - although by itself there are not many disturbing and shocking parts, the story is still hard and has a more serious topic. The story was created as an inspiration for recovery from depression and is one of the few of my stories with such intention. If it helps at least someone it would be a huge success and would fulfill the basic purpose of this story <3

 "I will never forget the day I changed my life from the root. It was the day I was at the bottom and I decided to climb up the mountain of life. Others forced me to fall, to give up, fortunately, I came back stronger and nobody will stop me from succeeding.

 That day I began to think differently, to organize myself according to my wishes. I figured that we were tailoring our destiny and I did not even start to exploit my potential. Little by little, step by step , I arrived at the destination.

 Persistence brought me the place of manager of "Gamma" company and changed my life. Maybe I risk my life for the company a bit, because we have a lot of enemies from other companies, but it does not matter. Colleagues respect me,they know that we are all together responsible for the rapid progress of our company. When there would be no workers, I would not have to devise ideas for the improvement of our company. But I know that I have not changed. Despite this serious person and I'm still ... "

 "I can not believe it! The sales dropped by 20%! Worse yet, the Gamma company has progressed!" - Kevin, "Nira's" company's manager, yelled out. "Last month it fell by 5%.We have to do something. Does anyone have an idea? "- asked Michael, Kevin's assistant." Everybody went silent in the meeting room. One of the employees said:" Maybe the company "Gamma" should be destroyed..." Kevin looked at him and said in a few minutes- "That idea is so great that ... you're fired!Because of such idiots this company is falling apart! Come on, Michael, let's go."

 In Kevin's office: Michael: "Why have you fired that employee for a while? We really have to somehow increase sales, but" Gamma" continues to function well ..." Kevin:" I do not understand how a company that has a female leader could have been better than ours! Since when they hired that Onyx all messed up! This girl is not even thirty years old, but she's already in such a position!" Michael:"Maybe we need a consultant... Can we ask her to work for our company?" Kevin: "Um, yeah, but what's the probability of her coming here... She would not leave the company... But with the help of money she might have agreed, after all, who doesn't love money..."

 Gama Company: Kevin entered the company and then reached the secretary. "Can I see Miss Onyx?Tell her that Kevin from "Nira" company is looking for her and has a business proposal." The secretary, after talking to Onyx, told Kevin he could go to the office. Kevin knocked on the door and walked in.

 There was the woman with dark-brown hair and her arms crossed,she wore a red blouse, black vest and brown trousers. She asked Kevin- "What do you want?  If you want unifying of companies, then do not waste my time but go out." Her voice was serious, calm and deep. Kevin: "No ... I have a much better offer! You can move on to work in the company "Nira". Onyx: "I'm not interested." Kevin (pulls out a black briefcase and opens it): "You will be well-paid... (shows the money in the bag)... our company is the perfect place to work! You will have twice as much salary than here. You just have to get in." Onyx: "I am satisfied with the company and the salary. The money is important, but not so much to leave the company. Besides, when a man is at the top of the mountain of life he can't climb further. He can only fall or... go to heaven. But I'll stick to the safe side. You can go." Kevin stepped out of the office, buzzing with anger.

 Onyx's house: In the evening, about eight o'clock, Onyx returned home. Already tired of the busy day she changed clothes, prepared for the next day and laid in bed. She expected to fall asleep, but ..."Dammit, I can not sleep,I have to find some kind of occupation. I'm going to go to the terrace, maybe I'll fall asleep with help of a fresh air. "

 She stepped out on terrace covered by black jacket. She noticed that something moved in her backyard, so quickly went downstairs and walked out.

 There was no one there. Soon she walked down the yard and saw a man in black. "Who are you and what you are looking for in my property?"- shouted Onyx. "Why are you interested in who I am ?! You will be dead anyway." said the man and headed for Onyx. Luckily, Onyx was ready for such unexpected events and defended herself. "Do you really think I'm helpless? Do I act like that? I could easily show you what I know and how I fight, but I will call the police so let them do it instead of me."-said Onyx, tying a man with a garden hose, then called the police. They came and took him to the police building. It turned out he was a murderer hired by another company.

 Onyx went in. She thought: "This was very hard. I've reached too much to be dead now ... I'll put a gun in my bag or pocket tomorrow, I will not risk it. I can not believe I said this sentence, though that's part of the change as well. I will not go back to the bottom, I can't. Maybe I did not touch the sky, maybe I can do even more, but I'm not going to the bottom. Stupid past will not ruin me again. Once it almost completely destroyed me, but I know I'm strong to get rid of it. I have to."

 "Gamma" company: At 8 o'clock, Onyx was already in her office, she looked through the window. Her office was on the third floor and underneath there were flowers of various colors, mostly in purple and red. The company's boss entered. "I heard you were attacked last night, we will sue that company." -said the boss, but Onyx quickly responded: "There is no need for that, everything is fine. That man is in prison, I do not want any charges. It does not matter." Boss:" How doesn't matter?! We almost lost the best worker and you say it does not matter! What if you did not know how to defend yourself, is your life not dear to you?" Onyx: "No, I just ... I got used to the danger." The boss went out, but Onyx stayed in the office. She began to shake and shiver went down her spine. She thought, "Onyx, you're strong enough. Forget the past. Calm down and everything will be fine. Start to think it was an ugly dream."

 Company "Nira": Michael and Kevin are talking. "If you saw how cold she rejected the offer, she just nonchalantly said 'No'. I do not understand. " Michael: "Maybe we should really destroy that company." Kevin: "How?" (Looks at Michael) If you have any idea, this is the right time to say before we all fail!" Michael: "It's easiest to destroy someone with the past. Maybe the girl has some stain..." Kevin: "I can not believe it's that simple. Great idea! Hire me some detective. Operation 'Destroy Gamma' starts!"

 The hired detective decided on the first day to find out where she lives. In a unobtrusive metallic gray car he started to follow her. She did not notice anything suspicious until she stopped in front of a traffic light. "Wasn't this car behind me and on the last traffic light? In fact, I think he was on the parking lot of the company too. Someone is following me! I have to fool the trail so that he can not find out where I'm going. He must been hired, like that killer."-thought Onyx and, when the green light was on the traffic lights, she began to ride along some streets until she disappeared from the sight of the detective.

 "Nira" company: Kevin: "How could she disappear?! Aren't you the best detective in town ?!" Detective: "The girl realized I was following her. You are dealing with a very smart person." Kevin: "Of course she is smart! If she was stupid, she would not be in one of the most important places! Dammit, I have to do everything myself. Michael, invite someone to puncture the tires of that Onyx and I take it further. Detective, you continue to do your job."

 "Gamma" company: Onyx came out on the parking lot. There she was shocked: the tires on her car were punctured! In her trunk there was only one spare tire and all four tires on the car were punctured. She called help on roads and walked home." Kevin showed-up. "Do you want a ride? I will gladly take you home... " Onyx glanced at him and only said through her teeth:"Hell, no."

 After that she continued walking, but Kevin was following her in the footsteps. "Why do not you want to talk to me? Did I do something wrong by inviting you to become part of our team?" Kevin asked, but he did not get the answer. "You think that silence is the best defense?! Is it the reason they hired you?! I knew that you were nothing special. You are, obviously, one person who makes people think she is smart and in fact is just silent. "Onyx: ,,Oh, really?" Kevin: "Yes, that's right. (Onyx continues to walk)"

 A few minutes later, Kevin began again:" Is that your only expression? Are not you laughing, crying or doing anything else? You act like a robot and not as a woman... You seem to have no feelings ..." Onyx sharply interrupted him: "Enough! How can you talk like that ?! Hell yeah, you know do I have emotions! As you want to know: no, I do not emotions.I do not know what you want from me, but I will not move to your company. And now excuse me. (looks Kevin in the eyes and immediately goes on walking)"

Kevin, a bit" stunned "by her gaze, decisive and mystical, watched as she slowly moved away from him and soon one 'Sorry' left from his mouth. Onyx turned and looked at him once again, this time furiously and only quietly mumbled: "Hm, yes for sure." He stopped to go after her and returned to his home.  Soon Onyx arrived at her house.

 Onyx's house: In a quiet corner, arranged as a blend of traditional and modern, made of simple colors, was sitting Onyx. She thought about life in a cup of tea in her hand. Maybe Kevin found her Achille's heel and he was not even aware of it...

 The company "Nira", the next day: Like every day, this morning Michael reports on the company's business and what happened. The detective arrived that morning and Kevin spoke with him. Detective:" I learned where the person you are looking for lives. It was difficult but I succeeded. At the moment, I'm waiting for them to bring me information on where she's from, since she's not from here. " Kevin: "Perfect! It's very good information. The more you know-the better.With some of this informations we can destroy their company!"

 "Gamma" company: The meeting is in progress. Boss: "Do you have any suggestions regarding product promotion? We do not currently have one new product and we will have two new ones in a few weeks." Onyx: "I suggest that we advertise some of the older products that already have their own traditions, just to keep it all in new robes and quantities. That's where we will have a novelty and, again, it will be something already known to consumers. Of course, we need promotion of product on television or in the newspaper, but this should be a commercial that people will not say is boring." The meeting was soon completed and everyone agreed that her idea was very good and should have been implemented. They all started to work and it was quickly finished. A few days later TV ads appeared, which other companies saw and immediately began to advertise their products.

 Company "Nira": Detective found out something about Onyx ... Detective: "Miss is from a small town and, for some reason, she has not been there since she moved away. She probably had an event in the past... Tomorrow I'll go out there and find out what this is about. I'll get to people, I will offer them a reward for information... "Kevin:" Yes, you can offer them money. Nobody is immune to it and every information is welcome..."

Onyx's office: Onyx was in her office during a break. She realized that she needed to talk to someone and that she could use new technology for it- Internet. It seemed like a good idea-she may have friends and not have to even know them really. She registers on a social network like Ox (the first and last letter of her name) and wrote about her. She has been avoiding to mention her appearance, job or anything else that might disclosed her. In fact, she did not even write too much. For not seeming unnatural she just wrote that she was mysterious.

 She had several friends for a few days and every day that number was increasing. Why? Onyx understood people and their problems, so she could give good advice. Soon many were asking for advice, which did not bother her. She still had a pseudonym Ox.

 "Nira" company: The message came from the detective: "Register on the social network and type Ox. The bird is caught in a trap, you just need to put it in the cage." Kevin did everything according to his instructions and he was surprised when he realized that behind all this was Onyx. Kevin: "I can not believe it! How she did it..."

 Regardless of her being his enemy, Kevin could not forget about Onyx. Her glance... her speech...  especially her dignity.

 "Kevin, put yourself together, work is in the first place. There is certainly a way to destroy them, but not like this... My goal is to destroy the company, not her. But, again.... from the time she got hired the company became the best in the region. Thanks to her advices it became a big company from an ordinary, small factory. Our company was the best. We were the first in the region, a reputable company, we lost that reputation and position of the best company because of them.vThis is not a fight for personal desires, but for a work. "

 He made contact with her by writing: "Hey, Ox, why are you so mysterious? What is your name?Are you hiding something so you hide behind the pseudonym?" Soon the answer came: "I'm not hiding nor I have to, it's all nicer when it's a secret." Then he wrote again:" An interesting answer, I would not even have answered better. I would like to meet you. How can I come to you?" Answer: "There is no need. Besides, you already communicate with me." Kevin: "I was thinking about a real conversation, face to face ..." Answer: "Maybe one day... and now sorry, I'm not interested." Kevin (after a few minutes of thinking): "Are you in relationship? If you have a boyfriend then that's why you are so mysterious ..." Answer: "No, I do not believe in love." Kevin: "You're kidding!" Answer: "No, I'm not kidding. In my life job is a priority. For love, I'm simply not created. I can give advice about love, but I do not want to love." Kevin: "Maybe I'm the one who will change your mind ..." Answer:"I doubt it."

 As the days went by, Kevin and Onyx were more and more corresponding. The only difference was that Kevin knew who he was communicating with and Onyx did not even assume who sent her messages (emails). Kevin remembered information about her; he could not believe she was a totally different person! She was not arrogant at all. She acted first distanced, but eventually she relaxed and communicated with Kevin as a friend.

 The detective stayed very long in the place where Onyx lived, because he found a very interesting secret...
 
 The situation in the companies was the same as before. After Onyx thought that Kevin was a friend (he did not introduce himself as Kevin but with other name) agreed to meet him. Given that Onyx worked until three in the afternoon, the two of them agreed to meet in four PM. Kevin said he would hold a bouquet of roses in his hand and the meeting place was a quiet park. Around ten to four PM Onyx sat on the bench in the park and waited. It was because she always came to the agreed places earlier, only at the workplace stayed up until the evening. At about four o'clock in the afternoon a man with a bouquet of roses appeared. Onyx had hoped everything would be fine... until her "friend" was close enough to see his well-known face.

 As soon as she saw Kevin, Onyx immediately rose from the bench and moved in the other direction. Kevin:"Wait, wait, don't go! (running)" Onyx: "What do you want this time? Didn't I tell you to stay away from me? You are so insolent! You lied to me all the time through an e-mails and acted all nice! Very, very insolent. I'm so sick of such people. " Kevin:" Miss Onyx... (approaching cautiously and slowly)... I did not want to come to you this way. " Onyx: "You did not have to look for me at all, I made it clear that I do not want to work in your company." Kevin offered a bouquet of flowers, but Onyx just said with the words: "I do not want your flowers even dead, let alone alive. " Kevin (barely trying to keep words in his mouth): "If you didn't run away from your city, maybe I could just leave these flowers on your grave, but then you wouldn't even know me and it would be all the same to you!!!" Onyx he looked straight into his eyes and asked, "What did you say? You'd better not want to say what I think you did, otherwise ..." Kevin (now quietly): "I know about your secret. I know what happened before you came to this city. " Onyx began to shiver.

Company "Nira", a few days earlier: Rainy and gloomy day. Kevin sits in his office, examines some papers and awaits a detective.Working time has long since ended and the entire building is quiet and empty. Soon a detective arrived. Kevin: "You haven't been here for a while! I hope you brought some important information." Detective: "Very important. I do not know if it can be used against Miss ..." Kevin: "Of course it can! Everything can be used! Soon I'm having an meeting with her and it would be wise to make sure that I am a serious player, I have to persuade her to stay because, let's be real, there are not any big chances to stay when she sees me." Detective: "Maybe this is still too confidential information... Still, it's a serious thing." Kevin: "Don't I pay you to find out, and what would be so confidential? She was doing some suspicious things? Did she give a birth as teen? Was she a thief? A criminal? A murderer? Nothing can surprise me." Detective: "Are you sure?" Kevin: "Yes, yes ... talk." Detective: "She was in hospital." Kevin (at the same time disappointed and mysterious): "And that's all?" Detective: "There's more. She was in a mental hospital." Kevin: "What? Why was she there? " Detective: "She ended up there because ..."

 After two words, Kevin gave the detective the money and asked him to leave. Then Kevin remained alone and in disbelief. He said quietly: "I'm wrong. This surprised me."

 Here we are again in the present. Onyx looked at Kevin. It was a strange glance, full of anger and fear, and again, at the same time, full of pain, pushed inside long ago.

 "You... you are not telling the truth... you do not know..."- said Onyx with a trembling voice. Kevin (lowering his head):" I know, Onyx, I know ... I'm sure of that. " Onyx (still in the same voice): "No, it's impossible ... I will not fall into the trap, I will not break as you expect." Kevin (looks in her eyes): "I have evidence." Onyx: "Do you think I'm not using the brain? You said you knew what happened before I came to this city, but you did not say what exactly you mean and I'm certainly not stupid to confirm something that is a pure lie. "Kevin:" I think we both think of the same event. Does mental hospital means something to you?" Onyx: "What?! You're insane! Leave me alone once and for all and stop sending detectives to follow me, do not interfere in my life, otherwise I'll report you to the police for interfering in my privacy!" Kevin (catching Onyx by the arm) "Do it! Do you want me to answer your famous question which you are constantly asking me? What do I want from you? I do not know. This is the answer. I like to be in your vicinity because you are really different from other women. To you job is the most important thing in the world, you devoted your life to your business, and even when I heard what happened to you ... You remind me of a phoenix who die to be born again in the fire. Before I met you, I did not even dream of finding such a woman attractive, dignified and decisive. I do not want to, and I can not, destroy the company through you. I'm determined: should I place the job in the first place or try with you ..."

Onyx (after quietly listening to him):"I will help you decide (approaching Kevin) because it is very simple... Continue to try to destroy me. Now, you will have a one more reason because I (pulling arm out of Kevin's) will never be with you. As for my secret, forget it because that's my life. I had to go through this, not you, so stop spying on me. My pain, my problem." Onyx then moved away and Kevin remained alone in the park.

 Kevin's house: "She refused me. She does not want to have anything to do with me. Where am I wrong? Maybe when I mentioned the hospital, it was her weakness, and how it wouldn't be? She surely became like this back then. She told me to forget about her and the whole event. But, when I think about it, I will not give up. Maybe this whole thing,my contemplation and everything else is just a glimpse, or is it real, but temporary?"- Kevin wondered in himself. He felt so confused ...

 Onyx's house, at the same time: Onyx stood on the terrace, thinking about today's event and at the same time shivering: "How could this happen?! My secret... my defeat... my worst move in life...  now are in the hands of this jerk! All these years will fall into the water, all that I did to climb to the mountain of life will now only become ashes. I built a shield, but I could not change what happened. I was afraid of this day and I was hoping that it would never come ... suddenly I want to do the same thing as a few years ago... But no, I can not. I can not do it neither to the company nor myself. Instead of despairing, I can play his game. He thinks that only he could hire a detective ... Maybe he has some secret too."

 The next day, about four and thirty in the morning, Onyx was awakened by the phone. She was invited to come to the hospital because the boss, otherwise her friend, was shot in his apartment and is dying, but he has to tell her something important.

 She quickly went to the hospital and found the boss. When he saw that Onyx came in, he picked up a document from shelf and headed it to her. He said- "Take it, this is yours from now on." Onyx:"What is this?" Boss: "The document that you are the new owner of the company." Onyx: "How is it possible? I am not related to you. You have a son, shouldn't he inherit the company..." Boss:,, I left to my son everything I had, but I will not leave him a company. He would sell it, but I still think that this shouldn't happen. So, I wanted to give it to someone who was employed in the company." Onyx:"I understand that, but why me? What have I done to deserve this? " Boss:" You can manage the company, you have what you need to be a leader and know that you are capable of it. I have the greatest confidence in you and I know that you will always think of the company. Please promise me that you will do the same as you do now." Onyx:" I promise I will do my best. I will not let you down." Boss: "You are the only legal owner, even my son can not take company from you." Onyx said last farewell to boss and left the room. For an hour the boss died.

 The next day was a funeral. Kevin also appeared and came to Onyx. Kevin: "If your company starts to fall apart, you can always come to mine." Onyx:"It will not fall apart, the new boss will make sure it does not happen." Kevin: "You already have a new boss? Why do you think he will maintain the company as an old boss? " Onyx:" Because I do not doubt in my leadership qualities." Kevin (after a few moments): "Wait a minute! You actually want to say that you are the boss?! You must be kidding!" Onyx: "This is neither time nor a place to joke. And no, I'm not kidding." Kevin could not say anything anymore. After the funeral, people got out and with them Onyx and Kevin.

 The company "Gamma": The following day it was announced that Onyx was the new boss. She addressed workers: "Salaries will not change and there won't be any negative changes. I want you, if you have a suggestion or idea,to say it freely, without any hesitation. Any opinion is important and maybe your idea can be profitable, as if you have a problem, I will be glad if I can help.

 "Nira" company: Michael enters Kevin's office. Michael: "Today we were supposed to take a report to the post office ..." Kevin: "I went there. I'll go back to another place and I do not think I'm going back, you're responsible for the company today."

 The "Gamma" company: "Tell the boss that I came to ask for a job," Kevin said to the secretary. She called Onyx and let Kevin in. Onyx (seeing Kevin): "Is this a joke?" Kevin :, No, I'm really looking for a job. " Onyx: "Were you not employed in your OWN company?Or did something happen?" Kevin: "Nothing happened, I just want to work for" Gamma". I leave my job in "Nira" to someone else." Onyx (after thinking for a while): "The only free place is my assistant's place, it's a very demanding place. I guess you're qualified because there are no special conditions needed, just enough to keep up with my thoughts." Kevin: "I accept, of course! I'm ready for a challenge!" Onyx: "Of course you will be ... in that short period. I do not doubt that you will quickly quit." Kevin (laughs): "Because of such a boss... everything should br endured." Onyx: "Okay... don't say I didn't warn you ... There's a special treatment for you, because you're annoying. You start to work tomorrow from 12, otherwise you would work from 8:00 AM, but I assume you have a things to finish in your company. When I think better, start working the day after tomorrow. Better use a tomorrow's day, you'll need it... " Kevin (still smiling): "I'll definitely need it. I have things to finish at "Nira" and then... I'm here. Can't wait!" After that he went home and Onyx was making a list of activities for her new assistant.

 The company "Nira", the next day: At a meeting, Kevin said he was leaving the company. It promptly raised the question: Who is now the company's boss? Kevin replied: "I believe the most to... (looks right)... Michael, here, he is the boss and everyone should listen to him!" Michael: "But, sir, I ..." Kevin: "No acceptance of "no" as an answer! Congratulations on the promotion! If you need a tip, you know where I am. And you others (looks at them) if I hear that you do not work properly I can still fire whole bunch of you! I hope you will manage to work. "

 Kevin and Michael talked in the office after the meeting. Michael: "Is this part of your plan to ruin the company "Gamma?" Kevin: "No. I gave up destruction of their company, it's too hard." Michael: "Why are you leaving the company?" Kevin: "No reason... That's it." Michael: "It does not look like you at all... Have you fallen in love with their boss?! She is a little younger than you! "Kevin (seriously):" I'm in love? Michael, Michael... I'm not falling in love so easily. I'm someone who thinks about the job (walk around the office left-right) and nobody will change it (trips over a cable) and therefore...(falls to the floor) ...goddamn with these cables! Where did I stop? And, yes, and so I have nothing more to say about this topic. " Michael: "Well, if you say so ... But I would not be surprised if that happens ... (coming out of the office)"

 Five o'clock in the morning. Onyx goes with the car somewhere.

 Kevin's house, six in the morning: A ring at the door was heard. Kevin, still drowsy, somehow dragged it to the door and opened them. There was Onyx. Onyx: "Good morning, my new assistant, ready to get started?" Kevin: "Good morning to you too... How do you know my address?" Onyx: "Since the assistant knows more than he should, then I decided to find out more about the assistant. One of the first information was your address, and later that you do not like to get up before seven AM, and this is exactly what time is the best- concentration at a high level, the brain works the best... and you are not ready?! "Kevin:" Here, I'll be right now, just to find my head ... " Onyx:" Good. You have twenty minutes and fifteen seconds to find your head and get ready. I'm waiting for you in the car. The time is moving- NOW!"

 Kevin got ready and went to the car. Onyx:" Twenty minutes and seventeen seconds. This time I'll forgive you , since this is your first day at work. Today you can get fired too so you do not relax too much. " Kevin: "Clear! I'm ready to work!"

 In the evening Onyx returned Kevin to house. It was a busy day and Kevin was really tired, he was barely standing on his feet. Onyx: "Well, do you have enough of everything? Do you quit?" Kevin: "No chance, we just started the party! " Onyx:"This is fun for you?" Kevin: "It's all fun with you, even this torture!" Onyx: "Oh, sure." Kevin: "Hey, do you want to go in for a drink?" Onyx: "So to risk my life?" Kevin: "Are you scared of me? I'm not a killer or a psychopath." Onyx: "Um, okay. But look: If you do something suspicious, I'll use a gun."

 They went inside and Kevin poured the juice into the glasses. Kevin: "Do you want a stronger drink?" Onyx: "No, I do not drink alcohol." Kevin: "I still do not understand something." Onyx: "What is it?" Kevin: "How did you become so strong and determined?" Onyx (lowered her head): "Who says I was weak?" Kevin: "I just assumed ..." Onyx: "Oh, forget it, you already know about it... you know just what happened, not how. But first of all, why." Kevin: "I do not want you to think that I want to get it out of you..." Onyx: "You should know why I did it. " Kevin: "In that case, I listen to you carefully."

Onyx: "Everything started in that town. I was able to deal with every problem that was before me. (rain starts outside) I was weird to others, they all said that I am like a robot with no emotions and no heart. " Kevin: "That's what I said too ... it's clear to me that I hurt you. I'm sorry." Onyx: "It's okay. Then, when I realized that everything was going downhill, I was lonely. I wanted to be good for others and I did not behave arrogantly. Instead of not paying attention to others and their opinion of me at that time I became very sensitive so every critique, every comment, every overly glaring was affected me and that was common thing. And then the depression began, I became a numb creature without any dreams and hopes. It dragged me deeper, I thought that there is no help for me... " Kevin:" And when... it happened..." Onyx: " It started quickly, I managed to hide it. It was not difficult, it was difficult to live such a life. Problems ... they started one after another. And then... one day... I decided. I told myself that it was over. " Kevin:  "And ... what did you do? Someone saw you and then they called the hospital?" Onyx: "(Sigh) I did it ... I was alone in the house. I waited for this opportunity for a long time. That night I pulled the worst move I could. Now I'm sorry for that. In the morning...they've found me on the verge of death. If they waited a bit longer you and I would not talk about it now. Of course, they called the hospital and they returned me to life. When it turned out that I did it, they kept me in the hospital. Actually, they moved me to another... which you already know. Then came talks with psychiatrists. Little by little, I returned to normal. I'll never forget that day when I got out of there. I was alone, left on my own.The fear got me. I could choose to go back to the hospital and, protected from everything, live only from false hopes, or go ahead, to build what I dreamed of, to success in life. A dark, cruel world awaited me, but I still chose the fight.

 The only problem were people, the same people who had disturbed me before and now,of course,they were even worse. I could not even walk through the street without hearing any comments. I moved away and started living my new life here." Kevin: "How old were you?" Onyx: "I was not even 18 when they sent me to the hospital." Kevin: "It must have been very difficult, shivers went down my spine just from listening. But, why do not you show your tender side? You remember the one with the internet ... I could not believe it was you. People like the way you are, they love your advices and everything that you hide inside..." Onyx:" Anyway, it's good for me like this. Well, it's time to go. We'll see you tomorrow at 8:00 AM." Kevin (goes with her to the car): "No more torture?" Onyx: "Kevin, we just started the party. Sounds familiar?" Kevin (laughs): "Oh, I see. You're the boss." Onyx went.

 "Gamma" company: Onyx dictates a list of obligations for today. Onyx: "Tomorrow is a meeting of owners of various companies, you are coming with me, just in case. Now, everything should be ready for tomorrow." Kevin: "I'll take care of everything, it's only for you to take care of styling." Onyx: "Styling? It's not a ceremony, it's only a meeting." Kevin: "Anyway, we should show why we are the best company... and have the prettiest boss." Onyx: "Still, I will leave that for other occasions. I do not have to shine but my mind does."

 Meeting: A lot of guests came to the meeting, most of them were bosses who came with their wives. Many asked Kevin whether Onyx was his wife, to which he only witty replied: "No, she's my boss just at work, it would be too dangerous for me to be the boss at home too!"

 Onyx was dressed in business suit, as always. She had an elegant bun and very little makeup. She talked with people and established business contacts, there were some business offers, but they were not too interesting. There was another boss too...

 "Kevin, we have not seen this week!You left your own company to be a servant in another?" - Michael yelled so loud that many people heard him. Kevin (drags Michael away): "Have you gone insane?! You know I can still fire you! I put you in that place, and I can also change you!" Michael: "That would be at least clearer to me than what you are doing!I do not understand what you are looking for in that company! Don't you see that they are using you?You have become her servant." Kevin: "Nobody uses me, I'm not a servant but an assistant, and she, Onyx, is my boss." Michael: "Either you're crazy or you're in love. There's no third option." Kevin: "In that case, I'm probably crazy because I'm in love." Michael: "If that's so (shakes Kevin's hand), I'm happy for you. I do not want you to regret for a decision." Kevin: "And I hope I will not."

 He then returned to Onyx and Michael went to talk with new business partners. For the time of Kevin's and Michael's conversation a man, the owner of another company, started offending Onyx. When returned, Kevin immediately intervened in the discussion. Kevin: "Watch how you're talking to the lady!" Man: "What, will you teach me?" Kevin: "Yes, if necessary!" Man: "Uh, I'm really scared! I shiver from fear! (mockingly)" Kevin hits a man with all his strenght, so he fell to the floor. Onyx: "Kevin, let him go! Let's get out of here!" Kevin wanted to continue hitting him, but Onyx said they were going and, taking Kevin gently by the arm, she headed for the exit.

 In the car, on the way home: "I could have killed him! What he has to tell you something! An idiot!  You should let me at least silence him!"- Kevin shouted, and Onyx calmly said to him:"It does not matter. Thank you for defending me, you did not have to do it. You are my assistant, not the bodyguard." Kevin: "For you, I would have become anything, I would do everything to make you feel good. You really mean a lot to me." Onyx (shy): "Again you about it ..." Kevin: "What to do when it's true." Onyx:" Kevin, you know I hardly love someone, and when you love someone you expect someone to love you back. " Kevin: "I only expect one from you, and that's to be there every day. You live for a job, I live for you." Onyx (blue): "Now I feel like a culprit ..." Kevin : "Don't, you are not guilty of anything. Everything is fine. Everything as before."

 Little by little, it ended a month after Kevin's transition to "Gamma". The company is still the first in the region, while "Nira" is the third. As for the relations between Onyx and Kevin everything was the same, only Onyx stopped acting badly to Kevin. The whole company had a good business atmosphere.

 The owner of the second company in the region, the same man who insulted Onyx at the meeting, was preparing an assassination on Gamma. He wanted to remove the leader of the company ie. Onyx.

 On that sunny morning, Kevin went to get supplies for the office. The staff were on pause, the secretary was in her workplace. The three men entered the room where a secretary was. She was scared when she saw that they had come to kill Onyx and tried to call the police, but she did not get to do it because one of them tied her, and two of them entered the Onyx's office.

 Onyx: "How can you burst in like that?!" One of them said: " Say goodbye to your life, you will die quickly. " Onyx wanted to pull the gun out of the drawer but she could not do it because they were dragged her to the window. One of them grabbed her while the other opened the window.

 Kevin, returning, noticed that something was wrong so quickly rushed to the building. He noticed that the two of them pushed Onyx out the window! He lowered everything he had in his hands and, running over the flowers, tried to catch the Onyx.

 She only closed her eyes... Through her head passed all she had done. She thought: "I was not destined to live and I just came back to the game..."

 Kevin watched panically while she was falling. When she was close to the ground he managed to partially catch her and save her life, and then they both fell into flowers. Onyx: "You saved me. I do not know how to thank you." Kevin: "Forget thanking, we have to call the police before they get away!" Onyx: "You call the police, and I'll draw their attention." Kevin (looks in her eyes): "We'll do it together."

 They quickly called the police and then went to the company. Onyx (quietly): "We have to be careful, we can not let them escape." Kevin: "Do not worry. You're lucky that they did not attack you with weapons, otherwise ... Oh, I do not even want to think about it. The workers are back in ten minutes, just pray that the police quickly comes in." The assassins went down where were Kevin and Onyx. They wanted to get out, but the two of them were preventing them- Onyx prevented one of them, while Kevin tried to defeat the two. One of these two pulled out a weapon and shot at Kevin. Then he stopped to fight.

 Onyx quickly left all three and ran to Kevin, who was hit. The assassins managed to get out, but  they only came to the police who was waiting at the door. Onyx yelled: "Somebody call an ambulance, Kevin is injured!"

Kevin took Onyx's hand and said, "Calm down, I'll be fine. He shot shoulder, didn't hit vital organs. Everything is fine." Onyx (panic): "Dammit,do you see how much blood you've lost? I don't want to lose you... You are my savior.My... friend ... " Kevin (smiling):"And I was just ... well, that's enough. But you started like..." Onyx: "I know what I meant... (turns around) Finally, ambulance arrives. I'm here. You said you wanted me to be here every day. Here I am."

 Kevin was taken to the hospital and Onyx was next to him. The owner of the other company turned out to be also responsible for the death of the former "Gamma" boss. This was spread through the media and his company was closed.

 The policemen came to the hospital and asked Onyx: "Do you want us to hire you a bodyguard?" She replied: "Besides Kevin, I do not need a bodyguard; he's better than a hundred of others."

 Over time, Kevin recovered and returned to the company. The Onyx began to feel something weird, indescribable for her, about Kevin. It's not love, but something that could turn into love.She realized that he could be right for her but she will not tell him, it's too early. And Kevin? He tried to calm his loving heart for some time. He tried to stay cool in every encounter, conversation and accidental touch with Onyx. He finally decided to try to do impossible...

 Company "Gamma", Onyx's office: Onyx cleanses the work desk, Kevin enters in. Kevin: "I have one question." Onyx: "Of course, ask freely." Kevin: "Did you open the top drawer today?" Onyx: "No ...  To open it?" Kevin: "Yes, please." Onyx (opens a drawer and pulls out a small black box from it): "What is this? You will not do what I think you want?" Kevin:"Just open it."

 Inside, there was a diamond ring with two small onyx stones on the sides. Onyx: "Are you proposing me?!" Kevin: "Yes. What do you say? I do not expect "yes",the choice is yours. " Onx: "I will not tell you "yes", yet I will not tell you "no" neither." Kevin (confused): "What does that mean now?" Onyx (touching Kevin's hand): "Work and personal satisfaction do not interfere. I'm currently devoted to the business." Kevin: "That means you will be busy with the job for a while and then you will accept. Can I hope you will be mine? We will be together?" Onyx (capriciously smiling, for the first time until then): "Maybe one day, Kevin. Maybe one day."

Disscusion

 Within a week, this story came out. Where does the idea of a business theme come from? A male anime character inspired me so much that the hard-working Capricorn in me found himself, so I could write the story without any problem. That's the basis.

 During the whole story, it is mentioned that Onyx was at the bottom, but she managed to recover. The middle of the story tells you with certainty her secret, when everything becomes clear as a cloudy day :/ . The details are reduced to the minimum in this story because the story should be positive, and the details of the attempt of what she wanted to do can disturb the psyche of the person who goes through it. It is valid only for this story, others story I made do goes deeply with details. The story was created at an difficult time, that year my depression got worse and I wanted to change something, especially after one event in October of that year, but I could not do that, so I let it be as it is.I would say anyone to get out of this as fast as possible, this is getting only worse.

 Onyx often calms herself and is the biggest support for herself, and then Kevin appears. At first the intention was not to insert love in the story, it simply turned out so, however, the end is mysterious and we don't know what happened,is there is a relationship, a marriage, or whatever. I say that I was thinking of writing the other part, but I'm afraid that I can spoil something, the story can only become morbid if I write it now. Now, everyone can imagine the end they want, if I never decide to write another part .

It is not mentioned which zodiac sign Onyx is but she was created as a Capricorn, so that's where this ambition for the job came from (break, how it works? I'm typing the fifth story this month O_O) . Onyx represents the semi-precious stone of the Capricorns and fits perfectly as the name of this girl.

 At the beginning of the writing of this story, on Monday, I did not even have any idea how long the story would be or how it would end. I had some ideas on Friday and it was finished on Saturday. It was inspiring to write this story in the school hallway, one of the last written during my education, I miss writing in a quiet corner of high school. This is my first story in which the work has an important role and the first long story written in one part.

Coming next: One of the most depressing stories from my collection, one of the stories I am re-reading the most, was created a year after "Onyx", day before my majority, the story that brought complete morbidity in my works.⚰💀
